Double Chocolatey Chip Donuts

A great recipe for any chocolate craving!

I have another donut recipe coming your way! This time I attempted something a little bit different and I’m very excited with how they turned out! I had been questioning myself as to why I hadn’t made a chocolate donut yet, so that’s exactly what I did. I created an extra chocolatey donut for you all! I usually follow the same donut recipe every time (so I know they will always turn out somewhat decent) but I just alter the flavors that I use to keep things easy! So, I hope you all enjoy this recipe as much as I did, so lets get right into the good stuff!

Ingredients

What you will need for this recipe…

  • 1 & 1/2 cups unbleached all-purpose flour (I used Bob’s Red Mill)
  • 2/3 cups coconut sugar
  • 2 tbsp corn starch
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp Himalayan pink salt
  • 3 tbsp cacao powder
  • 3/4 cup plant milk
  • 1 egg (using Bob’s Red Mill Egg Replacer)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp melted (vegan) butter
  • 1/3 cup mini Enjoy Life Foods chocolate chips

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 375F and lightly grease your donut pan. I use coconut oil.
  2. Prepare your egg replacer at this time and set aside.
  3. In a large bowl mix together the flour, coconut sugar, corn starch, baking powder, salt & cacao powder.
  4. In a separate bowl mix together the wet ingredients (plant milk, vanilla extract, melted butter, and egg replacer.
  5. Slowly pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix together well.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  7. Transfer the mixture to piping bag or ziploc bag (and snip off the corner).
  8. Fill the donut cavities about 2/3 of the way full and place in the oven for about 11 minutes.
  9. This recipe should make about 12 donuts.
