Salted Chocolate Chunk Cookies

One of my ALL TIME favorite cookie recipes, sweet & salty!

Happy Sunday, everyone! It’s TIME… if you follow me on Instagram, you know that a few days ago I posted a teaser of these super chunky, chocolatey salted morsels. I don’t know how it has taken me so long to share these but here we are! These are the perfect treat to bake up and keep in your cookie jar to enjoy whenever you need something chocolatey or sweet. I promise you, they won’t last long so make sure you hide them from your loved ones 😉


What you will need…

  • 1 & 1/2 cups unbleached all purpose four (I use Bob’s Red Mill)
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour (I also used Bob’s Red Mill)
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1 cup of vegan butter cut into cubes
  • 1/2 cup coconut sugar
  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar (brown sugar will work too)
  • 2 eggs using Bob’s Red Mill Egg Replacer
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups (vegan) chocolate chips (I used Enjoy Life brand & did half mini chips and half chocolate chunks)
  • Flaky sea salt


  1. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper. Prepare your egg replacer. Set aside.
  2. Stir together flours, baking powder & baking soda in a bowl.
  3. Using a mixer, cream together the butter, and sugars until smooth. Add the egg replacer & vanilla, beat again until smooth.
  4. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  5. Divide the dough evenly into cookie balls, making them however large or small you want them. I made mine pretty large considering all the chocolate chunks. Sprinkle them with sea salt now or after baking.
  6. Place cookies into freezer for 15-20 minutes. Preheat the oven to 375F while waiting.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. let cool slightly on baking sheet & transfer to cooling rack.
